A Suisun City man facing murder charges in connection with the Labor Day slaying of young Fairfield City Councilman Matt Garcia pleaded not guilty Monday in the Vallejo branch of Solano County Superior Court.

Henry Don Williams, the ex-con police say pulled the trigger in the Sept. 1 shooting death of Fairfield Councilman Matt Garcia, waved his extradition rights in a Clark County Nevada courtroom this morning.

The man police say shot and killed Fairfield City Councilman Matt Garcia earlier this month is scheduled for an extradition hearing Tuesday in Las Vegas, according to court information.

Henry Don Williams, 32, was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshall's Service Los Angeles Regional Taskforce, the Fairfield Police Department and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at 2:40 p.m. in Las Vegas. Williams was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Facility.
